Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials embody the spirit of Alligator’s raw and raucous “Genuine Houserockin’ Music.” Ed Williams and his half-brother James “Pookie” Young grew up on Chicago’s West Side, tutored by their uncle, bluesman J.B. Hutto. Michael Garrett and Kelly Littleton joined Ed and Pookie in the Blues Imperials 35 years ago, delivering joyful boogies and serious slide-driven Chicago blues.
